Formerly RAF Llandwrog 1941-1955 the Air Museum with all its history is a must visit.
In 1943 Flight Lt George Graham established the first RAF Mountain Rescue Service in the world from RAF Llandwrog.
At the end of World War ll liberating allied forces discovered that the Germans had been making bombs containing Tabun. This is a deadly chemical affecting the nervous system and fatal. They found 71,000 such bombs and they were all brought to RAF Llandwrog for disposal.
The museum is a registered charity and has the only remaining T2 BAe Harrier worldwide. It was a vertical short take off and landing ground attack and reconnaissance aircraft. Air World also has a shop with die caste models and also model kits for sale.
